Zaragoza Comarca, Administrative division in Zaragoza Province, Spain.
Zaragoza Comarca is an administrative division in Zaragoza Province comprising 21 municipalities across approximately 2,288 square kilometers. The region includes Utebo along with many smaller towns and forms a connected geographic area.
This administrative area was created by Aragonese Law 8/2019 in March 2019 and officially established in July 2019 in Utebo. Its creation followed a reorganization of local administrative structures in the province.
The region preserves Aragonese Mudéjar traditions through its buildings and monuments, while contemporary artistic expressions shape the communities. This cultural blend appears in local festivals and the architecture of smaller towns.
The region is managed through five administrative centers arranged around Zaragoza city, coordinating public services for about 750,000 residents. Visitors can easily travel through the various municipalities since they are connected by a continuous road network.
Three major rivers - the Ebro, Gallego, and Huerva - flow through the territory and shape its boundaries and landscape. These waterways have shaped human settlement and farming in the region for centuries.
