Church of Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia, Puerto de la Cruz

The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia is a Catholic building featuring three naves separated by Tuscan columns with round arches and a rectangular floor plan. The structure creates distinct interior zones that guide movement through the space.

The church was completed in 1697 on the site of an earlier chapel, financed by contributions from local tradespeople and merchants of the town. Its construction shows the economic strength of the middle class during that period.

The interior displays paintings by local artist Luis de la Cruz y Ríos and a Genoese Madonna statue that has become a focal point for visitors. These works reflect the artistic heritage of Puerto de la Cruz and draw people to see them throughout the year.
