Hotel Palace, Luxury hotel in Art District, Spain
Hotel Palace is a protected luxury hotel in the Cortes neighborhood of Madrid, facing Plaza de Neptuno. The building features white marble corridors and a central hall with a glass dome, surrounded by spacious guestrooms.
King Alfonso XIII commissioned the construction in 1912 to accommodate foreign diplomats and visitors to the capital. The building served as a military hospital during the Civil War, then returned to hotel operations afterward.
The Rotunda restaurant features a stained glass dome that has remained part of daily life since the building opened. Visitors sit at tables where Spanish artists and foreign writers once gathered during their stays in Madrid.
The building stands opposite Plaza de Neptuno, a short walk from the Prado Museum and other institutions in the Art District. The reception desk provides information about nearby metro stations and routes through the center.
Some rooms offer balconies with direct views of the Neptune Fountain and the Prado Museum facade across the street. Photographers use these vantage points for shots of the city center at sunrise and sunset.
