Playa de la Herradura, Almuñécar

The horseshoe-shaped bay extends for 2,200 meters along the Costa Tropical, featuring dark sand and gravel beaches bordered by Punta de la Mona cliffs.

In October 1562, several ships of the Spanish Armada fleet sank near the coast during a naval battle, leaving archaeological remains on the seabed.

The beachfront restaurants, known as chiringuitos, serve Mediterranean dishes and host evening Flamenco performances throughout the summer season.

The beach provides wooden footpaths to the shore, rental services for hammocks and parasols, plus multiple shower facilities and lifeguard towers.

The surrounding mountains create a subtropical microclimate, allowing visitors to enjoy swimming and water activities throughout the entire year.
