Casa de los Caballos

Casa de los Caballos is a Renaissance building in the Old Town of Caceres with three separate exhibition spaces. These rooms display artworks ranging from medieval times to the present day, all contained within thick stone walls.

The building was constructed in the 16th century as a stable facility for the neighboring Palacio de las Veletas. During the 20th century it was converted into an art museum and opened to the public.

The museum displays religious and secular artworks spanning multiple periods that visitors encounter while moving through its rooms. These collections reflect artistic traditions that have developed across this region over centuries.

The museum is open Tuesday through Friday and offers free admission to Caceres Card holders. Visitors should bring their credential and check eligibility requirements before arriving.

The building connects to the neighboring Palacio de las Veletas via a modern footbridge that crosses a sculpture garden between them. This passage offers an unexpected outdoor space for exploring art installations.
