Church of San Jorge, Las Fraguas, Neoclassical church in Las Fraguas, Spain.
The Church of San Jorge exhibits a hexastyle peripteral design with 40 Corinthian columns surrounding the main structure on all sides.
Built in 1890 upon medieval hermitage ruins, the Church of San Jorge was commissioned by the Dukes of Santo Mauro and later donated to Las Fraguas.
The temple functions as both the parish church for local religious ceremonies and a representation of Spanish architectural craftsmanship from the 19th century.
The church stands on a hill enclosed by a low masonry wall, with a small cemetery located on one of its sides.
The structure reproduces the architectural elements of ancient Greek temples, featuring an architrave, cornice, and triangular pediment without triglyphs and metopes.
