Hermandad del Lavatorio, Religious confraternity in Jaén, Spain.
The Hermandad del Lavatorio is a religious confraternity in Jaén that focuses on venerating the theme of foot-washing. It organizes processions during Holy Week featuring sculptural representations of Jesus washing the apostles' feet.
The confraternity received its initial approval in 2010 under the Congregación de Religiosas Misioneras del Divino Maestro. Final episcopal confirmation arrived in 2015, establishing its full ecclesiastical recognition.
Members participate in the Martes Santo procession, where about 200 Nazarenes walk through Jaén's streets carrying religious sculptures that depict the washing of feet. This procession forms an integral part of the city's Holy Week observances and reflects the community's commitment to religious commemoration.
The organization maintains its canonical seat at the Colegio de la Congregación de Religiosas Misioneras del Divino Maestro. Those interested can follow the processions that take place during Holy Week throughout the city.
The organization launched the Alma project in 2014 to provide educational support and recreational activities for children from disadvantaged families. This initiative demonstrates how the confraternity extends its mission beyond religious ceremonies into community service.
