Castillo. Recinto amurallado

Castillo Recinto Amurallado is a fortified walled enclosure with stone walls, defensive towers, and reinforced gates surrounding the historic center of Jaén. The structure follows the contours of the terrain and features multiple entrances and viewpoints throughout its perimeter.

The fortification was established during the Moorish period and was subsequently expanded under Christian rule after its conquest in the 13th century. Later modifications reflect both Islamic and European building methods and defenses.
