The monument features a trapezoidal plinth base supporting a tall Egyptian-style palm column topped with an Athena-Nike bronze figure.
The monument, inaugurated on October 20, 1912, commemorates the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa from 1212 and the Battle of Bailén from 1808.
Bronze reliefs on the pedestal depict dynamic battle scenes from both historic confrontations, representing the artistic style of 19th-century romantic sculpture.
The memorial stands in front of Concordia Park and near the Government Office, making it easily accessible from the central train station area.
The monument combines Egyptian architectural elements with classical mythology through its palm column and the goddess Athena-Nike bronze statue.
