The confraternity holds its main procession during Holy Week, specifically on Holy Monday afternoon, through the streets of central Jaén.
The confraternity was established in 1946 when a group of members decided to create an organization specifically dedicated to students in Jaén.
Members wear distinctive attire during processions, with black satin tunics for Christ's section and white wool with blue satin hoods for Virgin's section.

The confraternity maintains two principal religious sculptures: the 16th-century Christ of Mercies and the Virgin of Tears created between 1936 and 1938.
