Iglesia de Nuestra Señora Estrella del Mar, Gothic Revival church in Huelva, Spain
The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora Estrella del Mar features three naves separated by pointed arches, with the central nave rising higher than the lateral ones.
Municipal architect José María Pérez Carasa designed and constructed this religious building between 1922 and 1929 for the Daughters of Charity serving at Huelva Provincial Hospital.
The church vaults display a painted starry sky pattern, reflecting the dedication to Our Lady Star of the Sea through architectural decoration.
The building serves as both a parish church and a convent, offering regular masses and religious services to the local community in Huelva.
The Brotherhood of Christ of Mercy initiated the restoration works in 1991, following structural damage caused by the 1969 earthquake that temporarily closed the church.
