Parador de Nerja

The Parador de Nerja is a modern hotel built on a cliff along the Mediterranean coast with straight lines and contemporary design. The building holds about 96 rooms of different types along with restaurants and bars overlooking the sea.

The hotel opened in 1965 as part of Spain's expansion of its state-owned hotel network. The project was influenced by the royal family's appreciation for this coastal region.

The restaurant serves regional dishes like fried fish, traditional soups, and swordfish with orange sauce that reflect Andalusian cooking. Visitors can taste these flavors that are rooted in local food customs.

Access to the beach is through an elevator, making the visit easy and suitable for guests with different mobility needs. The location sits directly on the coast, so walks to the water are very short and convenient.

The courtyards display black and white pebbles arranged in checkerboard patterns, creating an unusual floor design. Orange trees and Mediterranean plants fill the gardens, adding color and scent to the grounds.
