Sa Torreta, Beach in Formentera, Spain

Sa Torreta is a beach in Formentera with fine sand extending roughly 170 meters along the coast and featuring a small rocky islet directly offshore. The narrow shoreline is shaped by this distinctive formation just beyond the waterline.

The name comes from the northern district of Espalmador, also called sa Torreta, which gives its name to the islet and the cove facing it. The cove is also known as Cala Rambles or Cala Sa Torreta. On 15 February 2012 the ferry Maverick II, on the route between the two main Pitiüses, ran aground on the Sa Torreta coast with 27 passengers and crew aboard.

The beach takes its name from sa Torreta, the district in the north of Espalmador where it lies; the cove is also called Cala Rambles or Cala Sa Torreta. It is a nudist beach, and the 250-metre shoreline remains undeveloped, with no buildings or facilities behind the sand.

Sa Torreta lies on the islet of Espalmador, northwest of Espalmador island, facing the cove of the same name, also called Cala Rambles. The 250-metre beach borders an anchorage open only to boats of very shallow draught, so most visitors arrive by small craft. There are no facilities; bring water and take everything back.
