Sa Roqueta, Naturist beach in Formentera, Spain

Sa Roqueta is a small cove in northeastern Formentera, between the beaches of es Pujols and Llevant. It measures about 300 metres long and 30 metres wide, with fine white sand, dunes and well-kept pine vegetation along the shore. The water entry is very rocky and the seabed has little sand.

Sa Roqueta lies between the beaches of es Pujols and Llevant, on the north-east coast of Formentera. The sources record no natural-park status or salt-works link for this cove; its history is one of gradual urbanisation, with the built-up edge of es Pujols at one end and a few isolated rural cottages at the other. From the back of the beach the island of Eivissa is visible across the water.

Naturism is usual on this beach, which is well suited to sunbathing. Its regulars are mostly older people who summer in the area, locals, Spaniards and Germans; Italians are rarely seen. Young and old sometimes hold parties in the cove at night.

Access is easy by car, with parking on an unpaved lot, or on foot, though signs are scarce. A wooden boardwalk links the beach to Es Pujols but is not adapted for wheelchairs. The beach has bins but few other services, and the Local Police, not a fixed lifeguard post, handles safety.
