Platja de Llevant, White sand beach on Trucador Peninsula, Formentera, Spain
Platja de Llevant is a beach on Formentera's eastern coast with fine white sand and shallow turquoise water that extends for about 1.5 kilometers. The shore is accessible via wooden walkways and features sun lounger rentals, umbrellas, and refreshment stands at regular intervals.
The beach sits within Ses Salines Natural Park, an area where salt production was practiced for centuries as a traditional livelihood. This heritage of salt harvesting shaped how the landscape is managed and protected today.
The eastern section functions as a naturist area where visitors practice clothing-optional bathing as part of local beach customs. This reflects how Mediterranean beaches have evolved to accommodate different preferences over time.
The beach is easily reached via wooden walkways that protect the dunes and provide shade during hot periods. The shallow water is suitable for swimmers of different abilities, and rental services for loungers and umbrellas are available along the shore.
The beach has a shallow bay that warms quickly, offering refreshing but not cold water during summer months. This makes it a place where visitors tend to stay longer since the water remains comfortable even late in the afternoon.

Formentera offers beaches with soft white sand, rocky coves, and lighthouses that show its maritime history. In the north, Ses Illetes and S'Espalmador welcome visitors with sandy stretches that stick out of the blue-green water. Further south, Migjorn spreads out over a long distance, with different spots to relax. When exploring the Ses Salines nature park and climbing the lighthouses at La Mola and Cabo de Berberia, you see great views of the Mediterranean. Small bays like Calo Des Mort and Cala Saona reveal a still lively underwater world, where clear water shows the sea life around the rocks. The island invites gentle exploration. You can walk along wooden paths by the coast, stroll on sandy beaches in red or white depending on the place, and look for old fishing huts that dot the shore. Every part of Formentera tells its own story, of a place where sea, sand, and rocks live side by side, creating different landscapes that are easy to get to. The pace here slows down naturally. Just follow the trails and coastlines to see the beauty of the Balearic shoreline.
