Sea Life Benalmádena is a marine aquarium with many different underwater animals across several display areas. The facility includes a dinosaur-themed tunnel and tanks with otters named Leo and Kira.
The aquarium opened in 1995 on the Costa del Sol and brought a marine education facility to the region. Since its opening, it has served as a place for learning about local sea life.
The facility focuses on marine conservation work and shows daily demonstrations about the animals and their habitats. Visitors can watch how staff care for the species and what tasks happen in daily operations.
The facility is well-marked and easy to walk through, with clear paths between the different tanks. As you move between zones, note that feeding times and shows happen at set moments when you can learn more about the animals.
The facility has a special area with bioluminescent effects that shows how some sea creatures produce their own light. This exhibition lets visitors discover a natural deep-sea phenomenon in an interactive way.
