Cala Saona Beach, White sand beach in Formentera, Spain

The 140-meter beach sits within a protected bay on the western coast, featuring red cliffs and Mediterranean pine trees along its shores.

The sheltered cove once served as a vital harbor for traditional llauts, the local fishing boats that sustained Formentera's maritime economy.

The beach maintains its status as a clothing-optional destination, reflecting the liberal social values that emerged during Formentera's transformation in the 1960s.

Visitors can reach the beach via the L5 bus line from Sant Francesc and La Savina, with a stop located 100 meters from the shore.

The beach provides direct views of Es Vedrà islet and stands as the only west-facing beach on Formentera, creating exceptional sunset perspectives.
