The Museum of Avilés Urban History exhibits the evolution of the city through four thematic areas across three floors totaling 1000 square meters.
The institution preserves artifacts from ancient settlements, including an axe from the Acheulean period dating back over one hundred thousand years.
The exhibition spaces document the transformation from a medieval port town into an industrial center through photographs, documents, and archaeological findings.
Located on La Ferrería Street, the museum opens Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 20:00, with free admission.
Visitors start their journey on the top floor, descending through time periods while enjoying views of the old town through large windows.
