Playa de El Molín del Puerto

Playa de El Molín del Puerto is a beach in Gozón that combines dark medium-grain sand with smooth pebbles and rocky outcrops. The shoreline stretches approximately 75 meters with a mix of sandy and pebbly areas backed by rocky formations.

The beach takes its name from an old mill that once processed grain at the water's edge before being transformed into a later establishment. This conversion shows how traditional structures adapted to changing needs over time.

The remains of an old fish salting facility on the left side show how people once processed seafood here as part of daily work. You can see how maritime traditions shaped the way locals lived along this coast.

You can reach the beach by descending about one kilometer from San Martín de Podes, with parking spots near the shore. The walking path involves a moderate slope, so wear suitable shoes and allow time for the walk.

The western section contains a geological site with numerous fossils that reveal clues about the region's prehistoric marine history. These finds help show how the coast has changed over very long periods of time.
