Playa de Puerto Rico is a wide sandy beach on the southern coast of Mogán with sheltered waters and fine golden sand that extends several hundred meters along the shore. The beach sits within easy reach of town and is lined with restaurants and service facilities.

Puerto Rico began as a small fishing hamlet at the mouth of a barranco on Mogán's coast. In the late 20th century the sheltered bay and golden sand were developed for tourism, and the harbour was enlarged; the beach now sits between the marina and the terraced slopes above. The old fishing use survives in the boats still moored in the harbour.
