Description
Balcón del Mediterráneo stands on a rocky cliff between Levante and Poniente beaches with a pentagonal platform bordered by white stone railings. The elevated location provides vantage points toward the coastline and surrounding waters.
History
The site housed a defensive fortress from the 14th to the 17th century until English forces damaged it during a military action against Napoleonic troops in 1812. These historical roots shaped the location as it exists today.

The plaza hosts weddings and local celebrations where residents and visitors gather throughout the year. Its proximity to the Church of San Jaime makes it a central meeting place for the community.

The viewpoint can be reached from Levante Beach directly, from Poniente Beach through Elche Park, or from the city center via Ruzafa Street. Arriving before sunset gives visitors better light and fewer crowds.
