Antiguo palacete del marqués de Rafal, Madrid, Official residence and historical building in Salamanca district, Madrid, Spain.
The three-story mansion combines classical and baroque revival architectural elements with a basement level and main entrance on Padilla Street.
Constructed in 1914 under architect Luis Sáinz de los Terreros, the building became the official residence of the Belgian ambassador to Spain in 1922.
The building represents early 20th-century Madrid architecture with its carriage entrance protected by a portico and gardens surrounded by railings.
Located at the intersection of Castelló and Padilla Streets, the residence maintains one façade open to Castelló Street while gardens encircle other sides.
The mansion was originally built for Alfonso de Pardo y Manuel de Villena, the 14th Marquis of Rafal, following typical palace designs of Madrid's expansion area.
