Playa de Los Cristianos is a wide sandy beach on the southern coast of Tenerife, sheltered by its natural cove and the neighboring harbor. The water stays calm and warm, making it ideal for swimmers of all ages.
In the 1970s, this was a quiet fishing village before tourism began to reshape the area. The modest harbor gradually developed into a popular beach resort with modern amenities.
The harbor next to the beach has always been the heart of this place, and fishermen still work the docks today. The waterfront restaurants reflect this deep connection between the sea and local life.
The beach has showers, changing rooms, and sun loungers available for rent, along with regular lifeguard presence during the season. The summer months get quite crowded, so arriving early in the morning is ideal.
Ferry boats depart regularly from the neighboring harbor to La Gomera island, allowing visitors to easily take day trips from the beach. This connection makes it a convenient starting point for exploring nearby islands.
