Cerro del Bu

Cerro del Bu is an archaeological site on a hilltop beside the Tagus River, where ancient stone foundations and settlement traces are visible across the terrain. The location shows multiple layers of occupation spanning different periods of human activity.

Early inhabitants worked with flint in this region before Bronze Age communities settled here and built their homes. Later, Arab populations established structures at the location during the medieval period.

The site reflects pastoral ways of life during the Bronze Age, when communities herded livestock across these hills and shaped the surrounding terrain. These ancient practices left visible marks on how people organized their settlements and used the land.

Access is via marked paths that lead up the hillside and offer views across the river valley. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear as the ground is uneven and the slope can be steep in places.

The walls at the summit show patterns of deliberate dismantling rather than fire damage. This suggests people intentionally tore down or removed certain structures at some point in the past.
