Colegio de Nuestra Señora de los Infantes, Toledo, School building and textile museum in Toledo, Spain.
The structure features two irregular courtyards with a simple masonry entrance hall and decorated windows with iron grilles designed by Master Domingo de Céspedes.
Cardinal Juan Martinez Siliceo established the educational institution in 1552 to train young singers, known as cleriçones, who performed during liturgical services at Toledo Cathedral.
The main entrance displays ornate decorations including canephoras, a shield supported by putti, and a tondo depicting the Virgin and Child with Justice and Faith figures.
The building now houses a Museum of Tapestries, Textiles and Sacred Art, following a careful renovation completed in November 2014.
The construction resulted in an independent structure with an irregular layout, uncommon in Toledo where buildings typically share walls with neighboring structures.
