The stone structure features three naves intersected by a transept, crowned with a hemispherical dome and three rounded arches at the entrance.
Fernando Ignacio de Arango Queipo founded the church in 1715 after returning from Charcas in the Viceroyalty of Peru, fulfilling a promise made during a sea storm.
The main altarpiece displays the Virgin of Valle statue alongside scenes of the Assumption and the Adoration of the Magi, covered in 40 kilograms of gold leaf.
The church maintains regular visiting hours from Monday through Saturday between 11:30 and 13:30, with audio guides available for visitors.
The Baroque organ inside the church holds the status of Cultural Interest Asset and produces music during special occasions after recent restoration.
