Angel of Victory, Stone monument on Aguzaderas Hill in Valdepeñas, Spain.
The Angel of Victory features a colossal stone statue of an angel holding a sword, with two stone poles extending 25 meters into the sky.
Built in 1964, the memorial suffered severe damage in 1976 when an explosive device planted by GRAPO destroyed the stone structure, leaving only the metal framework.
The monument represented a memorial designed by sculptor Juan de Ávalos to commemorate those who died during the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1964.
The location offers views across the Manchegan plain and stands near the A-4 highway, making it visible from multiple directions and easily accessible by car.
The remains of this 15-meter-tall statue contain the original metal framework, while scattered stone fragments mark the site of the 1976 explosion.
