Sauvo Church

Sauvo Church is a Gothic stone building from the 15th century that stands impressively today. The structure includes several rooms for religious ceremonies and services.

The first written record dates to 1346 in cathedral documents, while the current building was constructed between 1460 and 1472. This timeline shows the long history of religious life at this location.

Inside are wall paintings from the 15th century and original medieval furnishings that visitors can still see today. These objects show how the community shaped and cared for its sacred spaces over the centuries.

The church complex is located in the small community of Sauvo and is easy to reach, with administration managed by Paimio Parish since 2019. Visitors can find regular services and explore the grounds, including the historic cemetery on the property.
