Dômes de Miage, Alpine summit in Les Contamines-Montjoie, France
The Dômes de Miage features a three-kilometer snow ridge extending from Col de la Bérangère to the intersections of Durier and Tré la Tête ridges.
The first ascent of Dômes de Miage occurred on September 2, 1858, by E.T. Coleman, F. Mollard, and J. Jacquemont, marking the beginning of alpine exploration in this area.
Notre-Dame de la Gorge church, the starting point for trails leading to Dômes de Miage, displays Renaissance frescoes and characteristic Baroque architecture.
The Conscrits refuge, located at 2,580 meters elevation, provides essential accommodation for mountaineers planning to climb the Dômes de Miage.
The various peaks of the massif reach different heights, with the Principal East Dome at 3,673 meters and the Occidental Dome at 3,670 meters.
