Square Alboni, Garden square and private road in 16th arrondissement, France.
Square Alboni is a narrow residential passage that links two sections of Rue Marietta-Alboni near the Passy viaduct and metro station. Residential buildings from the early 20th century line both sides, creating a quieter corner removed from the busier streets nearby.
The site emerged from former gardens owned by banker Benjamin Delessert and developed after his descendants subdivided the land in 1894. Public access was established in the mid-20th century.
The Armenian General Benevolent Union has maintained its international headquarters at number 11 since the early 20th century, with a library dedicated to Armenian studies that draws researchers from around the world.
Vehicle access is limited to the upper section, while the rest remains pedestrian-only. The passage is quietest during daytime hours when you can fully appreciate the residential architecture and peaceful surroundings.
Several notable residents have lived here over the years, from environmental figures to media personalities. This quiet address has attracted people seeking residence away from the main streets while remaining in central Paris.
