St Blaise's Church, Baroque church on Placa street, Dubrovnik, Croatia
The church features a single square nave with Corinthian columns supporting a central oblong cupola and decorated barrel-vaulted ceiling in Baroque style.
After a fire destroyed the medieval structure in 1706, Venetian architect Marino Groppelli designed and built the current church between 1707 and 1715.
The main altar displays a 15th-century Gothic statue of Saint Blaise holding a scale model of the earlier Romanesque church that survived the 1706 fire.
The church stands near the center of Dubrovnik's Old Town, with a flight of stairs leading to the entrance portal guarded by stone angel statues.
Four Corinthian columns frame the facade, which ends in a semicircular gable topped with a balustrade containing three statues created by Marino Groppelli.
