Urania Cinema

Urania Cinema is a movie theater in Osijek featuring Art Nouveau ornamentation on its facade and a single screening hall with approximately 250 seats for films and cultural events. The building operates with modern digital projection systems and functions as an active cultural venue.

The building was constructed in 1912 according to designs by architect Viktor Axmann and ranks among the oldest operating cinemas in the region. It has maintained continuous operation as a cultural venue since opening and continues to shape Osijek's character.

The cinema participates in a European film network and presents works from various countries alongside independent productions. It serves as a gathering place where film enthusiasts and casual viewers discover new artistic perspectives together.

The cinema is located at Šetalište kardinala Franje Šepera 8 and offers regular screenings with modern projection equipment. Reduced admission prices are available for students and schoolchildren.

The building holds protected status in Croatia's Register of Cultural Goods, making it one of the nation's safeguarded structures. Its original Art Nouveau architectural elements remain intact and continue to define the building's appearance.
