Givat HaEm, Summit and scenic viewpoint in Golan Heights, Israel

Givat HaEm is a summit and viewpoint in the Golan Heights that rises approximately 196 meters above sea level, marked by a small bunker structure. From this elevation, visitors can look out across the eastern Hula Valley and the surrounding terrain.

After the War of Independence, the site gained military importance when Israeli forces established a border outpost facing Syrian positions. This strategic role shaped the place during that period.

The hill is named after Henrietta Szold, an American Zionist leader whose work with youth shaped Israeli society. This connection reflects how the place honors influential figures from that era.

The Kfar Szold Intersection bus station provides access to the site, with facilities and services available in the nearby kibbutz. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear since the path up the hill can be steep and uneven.

The basalt formation here resulted from volcanic activity during the geological development of the Jordan Rift Valley. This geological history makes the place worth exploring for those curious about how the landscape was shaped.
