Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Wildlife park in Katraj, India
The zoological park extends across 130 acres, featuring diverse animal habitats, a snake sanctuary, and a 42-acre lake within its boundaries.
The facility originated as Peshwe Park in 1953 before relocating to its current location and opening as Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park in 1999.
The park maintains rehabilitation programs for injured wildlife and conducts research focusing on species conservation in the Western Ghats region.
The zoo welcomes visitors daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with entry fees of 25 rupees for adults and 10 rupees for children.
The facility includes three distinct sections: a traditional zoo, a specialized snake park, and a natural lake environment for water birds.
