Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden, Japanese garden in Pune, India
The garden spans 10 acres with natural water streams, stone lanterns, bridges, and pathways designed according to traditional Japanese landscaping principles.
Established on January 19, 2006, the garden represents the partnership between Pune and Okayama, with technical assistance from Japanese experts during construction.
The garden combines elements from Okayama's Korakuen Garden with local Indian design elements, including a section dedicated to Mughal garden architecture.
The entrance fee is 5 rupees for both adults and children above three years, and the garden remains accessible through public transport on Sinhgad Road.
Colorful fish populate the garden's water features, which visitors can observe from central bridges while following the winding paths through the landscaped grounds.
