Tathawade Garden, Pune

Tathawade Garden is a public park in Karve Nagar spanning around 2.75 acres with multiple water fountains distributed across the grounds. A jogging track runs around the perimeter to connect different areas of the garden.

The park was named after Major Pradeep Tathawade, an officer who died during a military operation in Jammu. It opened on October 31, 2002, to honor his memory.

The central stage and open lawn serve as gathering spaces for local residents from surrounding neighborhoods who come together for events and social activities. These areas reflect how the place functions as a community meeting point in daily life.

The garden opens for visitors during specific morning and evening time slots each day, with peak activity during these hours. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and you may want to visit during less busy times if you prefer a quieter experience.

A military tank from the 1971 war sits on display within the park grounds as a permanent memorial. This piece of military history provides an unexpected element during a visit to the garden.
