Blades of Glory Cricket Museum, Cricket museum in Pune, India.
The Blades of Glory Cricket Museum is a cricket memorabilia museum in Pune, Maharashtra, widely regarded as one of the largest of its kind in the world. The space is organized into several exhibition areas where bats, jerseys, gloves, and other equipment are displayed alongside information about the players they belonged to.
The museum was founded in 2012 by Roshan Abey, a former cricket player who had spent years collecting objects related to the sport. Since opening, contributions from over 450 international players have steadily expanded the collection beyond its original scope.
Cricket in India is followed with a passion that few other sports can match, and this museum gives that feeling a physical form. Visitors can see jerseys and personal items from players they grew up watching, which makes the experience feel personal rather than distant.
The museum is easy to navigate on foot, with information panels near most displays helping visitors follow the story behind each object. Plan to spend a good part of the day there, as the collection is large and it is easy to linger.
Some of the bats on display were donated directly by the players who used them in World Cup matches, which is something that few cricket collections anywhere can claim. Several pieces carry handwritten dedications that are rarely seen outside of private collections.
