Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar

The Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar is a Vaishnavite religious center featuring several buildings arranged across open land, with a main hall designed for communal worship and prayer. The complex includes multiple structures that support both daily religious activities and larger gatherings of devotees.

A spiritual disciple established this religious center in 1528 following an encounter with a local villager who offered him shelter and support. The site has remained an active place of worship and community gathering since its founding centuries ago.

The temple serves as a gathering place for followers who come together to observe important religious celebrations and daily prayers throughout the year. Visitors can witness how the community participates in seasonal festivals that mark key moments in the Vaishnavite tradition.

The temple is located roughly 15 kilometers east of Jorhat city and can be reached by local buses or rental vehicles from the area. The site sits on open land, so visitors should prepare for sun exposure and wear appropriate footwear for walking on the grounds.

A small oil lamp within the temple has been burning continuously for approximately five centuries, maintained by priests who regularly add mustard oil to keep the flame alive. This enduring light represents one of the oldest living traditions at the site.
