Shanti Ashram

Shanti Ashram is a spiritual retreat center located on the banks of the Brahmaputra River in open meadows surrounded by dense jungle. The complex sits near the Mariyani-Jorhat railway line and contains accommodation buildings along with spaces for meditation and religious practice.

Swami Nigamananda established this ashram after relocating from previous spiritual centers in present-day Bangladesh. The founding established this location as an important center for spiritual practice and teaching in northeastern India.
