Dimapur Jain Temple

Dimapur Jain Temple is a structure with intricate glass decoration throughout, housing multiple prayer halls where various deity statues are displayed. The different sections are organized to accommodate both worship and contemplation.

A group of Jain families established this temple in 1947 after relocating to Dimapur during the upheaval of World War II. The construction reflected their effort to create a new spiritual center in their adopted city.

The temple serves as a center for Jain worship and practice in the region, with its layout and decorations reflecting core beliefs of the faith. Visitors can observe how the space is used for daily prayers and religious ceremonies throughout the year.

The temple is situated in a residential neighborhood and can be reached on foot with local directions. Visiting during early morning hours provides a quieter atmosphere for walking through the space and observing the details.

The upper floor displays a complete collection of statues representing all the major spiritual teachers of the Jain tradition in one section. This comprehensive arrangement is uncommon to find gathered in a single location.
