Muzhappilangad Beach, Coastal beach in Kannur district, India
The Muzhappilangad Beach extends for 4 kilometers along the Arabian Sea, bordered by protective black rocks that create natural barriers against ocean currents.
Since the 1990s, this beach has transformed from a local fishing spot into an international destination, drawing numerous European visitors during winter months.
Local fishermen maintain their traditional practices at the beach, while visitors can taste regional Malabar specialties at numerous beachside food stalls.
The beach is accessible through National Highway 66, with Edakkad railway station 2 kilometers away and Kannur International Airport at 27 kilometers distance.
The beach permits vehicles to drive directly on its sandy surface for 3.4 kilometers, making it the longest drive-in beach in India.
