Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Tellicherry, Syro-Malabar Catholic archeparchy in Thalassery, India

The Syro-Malabar Catholic Archeparchy of Tellicherry is an ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Syro-Malabar Church with its seat at Saint Joseph's Church in Tellicherry, Kerala. It covers 18,000 km² and serves a Catholic population of 273,826. Its suffragan eparchies are Belthangady, Bhadravathi, Mandya, Mananthavady and Thamarassery.

The archdiocese was established in 1953 in response to Syrian Christians who had moved to the Malabar region and needed their own church structure. Its founding directly answered the needs of these migrant communities seeking to maintain their own liturgical traditions.

The community worships using East Syriac liturgy with prayers and services conducted in Malayalam, showing how ancient traditions blend with local language and culture. This mix of old rituals and contemporary life shapes how people experience faith here.

Its cathedral is Saint Joseph's Church in Tellicherry, and Joseph Pamplany has been Metropolitan Archbishop since 2022.
