Orlovača cave, Karst cave system in Pale Municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Orlovača cave stretches for 2500 meters through limestone terrain with numerous passages displaying stalactites, stalagmites, and aragonite formations. The cave contains multiple chambers of varying sizes, creating a complex underground network that visitors encounter as they move through the passages.

Archaeological digs have uncovered stone tools and pottery fragments dating to 3500 years ago within this cave. These discoveries reveal that people have used this location across many centuries, leaving traces of their presence deep underground.

Local residents call this cave Sava's cave, and it holds deep meaning in how the community sees their natural landscape. When you walk through it, you can sense how the place connects to their sense of belonging to this region.

This cave requires a guide to visit, and you should wear sturdy shoes and bring a jacket since the paths are uneven and underground temperatures stay cool year-round. The entrance is located near the town of Pale, so plan your visit with current opening hours in mind.

Bones from cave bears have been found here dating back roughly 16000 years. These ancient remains offer clues about the animals that once inhabited this region in prehistoric times.
