Jahorina ski resort, Mountain ski resort in Jahorina, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Jahorina ski resort is a mountain skiing destination in the Dinaric Alps with slopes at elevations between 1,300 and 1,890 meters (4,265 and 6,200 feet). The resort features numerous trails, modern lift systems, and artificial snow coverage across all skiing areas.
The site became known internationally when it hosted the Women's Alpine competitions during the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo as the Olympic Center Jahorina. This international event established it as a major skiing destination in the region.
Local mountain traditions appear in traditional restaurants serving Bosnian specialties and winter gatherings that bring together skiers from across the region.
Access to different elevation levels is well organized through modern lift systems. Equipment rentals are available on-site, and it is worth checking conditions before visiting since opening depends on snowfall patterns.
The resort is defined by its extended snow season running from October to May, making it the longest-operating ski destination in the country. This prolonged season allows skiing operations across an unusually long timeframe for the region.
