Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track, Olympic winter sports track in Trebević, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track is a concrete course with 13 curves running 1,300 meters through pine forests on Mount Trebević. The track descends 125 meters from the mountain station toward the city below.
Built for the 1984 Winter Olympics, the track later became an artillery position during the war from 1991 to 1995. Restoration efforts have since allowed it to return to sports use.
Local graffiti artists have filled the concrete surfaces with colorful murals, creating visual stories across the Olympic structure. These works represent a form of expression that reclaims the space with creativity.
You can reach the site via the restored cable car from Sarajevo to the mountain station, where marked paths provide access to the track. Walking the course is possible, though the slope is steep in sections.
National bobsleigh and luge teams use the track for summer training, turning the restored former ruin into an active training facility. This second life demonstrates how the place has transformed from a symbol of conflict into one of athletic preparation.
