Muchetta

Muchetta is a mountain summit in the Albula Alps reaching 2,623 meters with steep rocky slopes that rise above the surrounding valleys. The peak sits within the Parc Ela landscape and stands as part of a chain of summits in the region.

Muchetta sits within Parc Ela, an area created to protect the natural mountain landscape of Grisons. The slopes have long served as a passage for routes connecting Alpine communities across the region.

The mountain paths connect multiple Alpine communities in the Grisons region, where local residents maintain traditional Swiss mountain farming practices.

The summit is accessible via hiking trails from the Albula valley, with routes of varying difficulty to choose from. The best hiking period runs from June through September when higher elevations are free of snow.

The peak sits only about 1.4 kilometers from Stulsergrat, a higher neighboring summit, creating a close mountain pair. This proximity makes it possible to explore both peaks as part of a single hiking route.
