Beijing Chaoyang railway station, railway station in Beijing, China (for the metro station, see Q105061192)
Beijing Chaoyang railway station is a railway hub in Chaoyang district, roughly 15 kilometers from the city center and connected to multiple transport lines. The building has three levels with ticket offices on the ground floor, platforms, and a large waiting area on the second floor where travelers can rest before departure.
The station first opened in 1966 as Xinghuo Railway Station and served as a transport hub for decades. It underwent major rebuilding in 2019 and 2020, reopening in early 2021 with improved design to help travelers move more quickly and comfortably.
This station is a key point in the city's daily transport life, used by many people each day for travel between regions. The recent connection with subway Line 3 has made it easier for residents to move between different parts of Beijing and beyond.
Arrive at the station at least 45 minutes before your train departs to allow time for security checks and ticket verification. Gates open about 20 minutes before departure and close roughly 5 minutes before the train leaves, so arriving on time is important to avoid missing your train.
The station has entrances at different levels, including the B1 entrance on the east side with direct access to the transfer hall, allowing quick switches between subway and train. This layout makes it easier for travelers to change between different transport modes without leaving the building.
