Tuanjiehu Park, Public park in Chaoyang District, China.
Tuanjiehu Park is a large green space in Beijing's business district, covering about 92 hectares with a central lake surrounded by bridges, gazebos, and gardens in traditional southern Chinese style. Stone sculptures, planted areas, and walking paths guide visitors around the water and through the landscaped grounds.
The lake was created in 1958 and became one of the ten largest lakes in Beijing's urban area before it was turned into a public park in 1986. The transformation into a park brought the water feature into a larger system of green spaces for city residents.
The ring-shaped lake gives the park its name, meaning Lake of Unity, which shapes how the space is organized around water and green areas. You can see this concept reflected in how paths and gardens are arranged in balance around the lake.
The park is open daily and has good walking paths around the lake for exploration. Early mornings or evenings are often the best times to visit when temperatures are milder and crowds are smaller.
The park features a sandy beach with yellow sand where visitors can experience an unexpected beach-like setting in the middle of the city. This unusual element makes it a rare urban spot where you can get close to water and sand.
