Carinhall, Country estate in Germany
Carinhall was a large hunting lodge and country residence in the Schorfheide forest near Templin, built as a complex with multiple structures and extensive grounds. The construction combined solid architecture with period-appropriate design elements to create an imposing residential compound.
Construction began in the 1930s and the residence grew into a major property with considerable building development. The estate ended completely through demolition and destruction after World War II.
It was a representation of power and influence during Nazi Germany.
The site is located in a forest area that is accessible but has minimal visitor facilities. You should be prepared for uneven ground and limited signage at the location.
Fragmentary remains and foundations are still visible in the forest, allowing visitors to sense the scale of the original complex. Archaeological traces and debris tell the story of the site's former importance.
