Ziegenkopf is a mountain peak near Blankenburg that rises to about 400 meters within the Harz range. Dense forests cover the slopes, which drop steeply, creating a rugged natural landscape.

The 30-metre Ziegenkopfturm was built on the summit over 100 years ago, with a stone base and a wooden upper storey. It stands beside a hilltop restaurant that served in the GDR era as the Kultur- und Gästehaus "Glückauf".

The name Ziegenkopf ("goat's head") points to goat grazing on the slopes. The hilltop restaurant beside the 30-metre Ziegenkopfturm was used in the GDR era as the Kultur- und Gästehaus "Glückauf", so a visit combines the tower with a stop at this former cultural house.

Several marked hiking trails lead from Blankenburg to the summit, with parking available at the starting points. The route is manageable on foot and requires standard hiking gear, taking a few hours in total.
